VICTORIA, BC–(Marketwired – November 13, 2016) – Information technology (IT) solutions sales veteran Dave Mathieson has joined Charter Telecom Inc. (Charter) of Victoria, in a move that reflects Charter’s increased focus on providing IT products and solutions to Canadian health care providers.
Mathieson has spent the last six years with Cisco Systems, Inc., the world’s largest IT networking company, in a successful stint with the company’s Health Care group. Before that, Mathieson spent many years as a senior account manager at Nortel, the pioneer Canadian communications technology company.
Charter President Kelly Michell said Mathieson’s appointment is part of Charter’s strategic focus on providing IT infrastructure solutions to the health care sector, which increasingly relies on IT for everything from more effective use of resources to improved diagnostics, communications, and scale.
Recently, Charter acquired Boardwalk Communications, also of Victoria, an acquisition that adds Cisco products to Charter’s array of products and services.
“With his experience at Cisco, Dave Mathieson is an ideally suited addition to our combined health care practice,” said Michell. “Our ability to attract a talent such as Dave indicates Charter’s success as a major Canadian solution provider,” he said.
Charter President Michell said Mathieson’s mission will be to continue growing his relationships with health care authorities, with an extended focus upon health care providers in B.C.’s Lower Mainland region.
Charter’s progress has been noted by U.S.-based CIOReview magazine, which recently recognized Charter as one of North America’s “20 Most Promising IT Infrastructure Solution Providers” for 2016.
Dave Mathieson joined Charter effective Monday, November 7, 2016.
