We are looking for a Sales Engineer to engage in the high-level design and specification of solutions for Charter’s clients, focused in the technology vertical of Unified Communications and Collaboration.

 

About the Job:

  • A specialized role focused on Cisco Unified Communications (UC) and Collaboration suite of products and the supporting technologies.
  • Respond and engage in new opportunities, led by Charter Account Managers to assist in the qualification, high level design/architecture and specification of UC and Collaboration solutions.
  • Deliver professional, well documented solution presentations via standardized formats to facilitate the sale as well as the delivery and deployment by the professional services team.
  • Mentor and guide junior/entry level sales engineers.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, distributors and end customers.
  • Develop and self-maintain high technical acumen in relevant subject matter. Stay current on technology trends, vendor products and promotions to produce high value solutions.
  • Give solution demos via Cisco d-cloud or other similar tools to internal employees or customers.
  • Work with adjacent technologies required to properly design and delivery voice/UC products such as IP QoS, 3rd party applications, directory integration etc.
  • Excel at working in a fast paced team environment, servicing multiple internal and external customers nationally.

 

About you:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a Sales Engineer or similar role/function in the telecommunications technology sector.
  • Highly capable and experienced in the high-level architecture, design and specification of Cisco Unified Communications core telephony solutions including UCM, Unity Connection, IM&P, IP gateways and various endpoint form factors.
  • Exposure and familiarity with Cisco collaboration suite of products and technologies including Expressway (Collaboration Edge), Telepresence, Jabber, Spark and Webex.
  • Understanding of the operation and application of voice related TDM and IP protocols, including SIP, ISDN, H.323, SCCP, RTP.
  • Some exposure and familiarity with Contact Center design and integration with core voice systems an asset.
  • Proven experience working with Cisco Commerce Workspace (CCW) for the purposes of building hardware/software/licensing bill of materials to facilitate the specification of Cisco voice systems.
  • Strong articulation skills, both verbal and written in English, applied to the writing of Statement of Work (SOW) documents, RFPs, formal presentations and training.
  • Experience in leading technical sales discussions, both internal and customer facing to varying depths and audiences.
  • Ability to handle high amounts of concurrency and engagement priorities in a controlled and professional manner.  Customer focused and driven to meet the objectives and directives of the organization.
  • Authorized to work in Canada.

About the Job:

  • Successfully promote, develop and sell Charter as a full service, high value-added IT network systems integrator into new Enterprise and Service provider accounts across Canada
  • Develop and maintain multiple levels of account relationships with medium and large accounts,
  • Able to develop strategies and tactics to acquire new Accounts to Charter
  • Possess and maintain an exceptional level of technical knowledge of the the company’s broad array of products and services
  • Develop new business models with things like IoT, both inside and outside of Charter’s existing client base
  • Qualify, develop, and close sales opportunities to meet/exceed required sales targets in both the product and services categories
  • Demonstrate a high level of cross company teamwork in all activities
  • Work in a team like manner with all Charter’s external business partners to develop best in class offerings to our customers’ challenges and needs
  • Detailed intimacy of overall network and communications architecture in large and medium Accounts, and able to map Charter offerings that can deliver desired business outcomes
  • Maintain a solid understanding of the overall technology sector and market changes, from basic requirements to major industry impacting directions
  • Engage, develop and deliver compelling high end, high value customer presentations

 

About you:

  • At least 3-6 years of experience with a proven record of success in IT Networking sales, detailed account management and business consulting sales skills
  • A track record of making quota / closing forecasted deals, including solid weekly forecasting, account heat mapping, pre and post sales process, and ongoing account management skills in both Enterprise and Service Provider accounts.
  • Work effectively and cooperatively with Inside Sales, Administrative logistics and technical teams.
  • Relentless pursuit in driving sales opportunities through the sales forecast funnel to closure
  • Proficiency and deep understanding of complex networking solutions is imperative.
  • Competitive adeptness in setting the stage, business savvy, a strong customer focus, self-confidence, and an ability to manage business relations.
  • A proven ability to develop long-term and mutually beneficial relationships with large accounts, including some expertise at financial modeling and executive level deal discussion
  • An existing base of strong relationships with new prospective accounts to which you could sell Charter solutions
  • Self-starter, independent worker, intelligent and driven to succeed – strategic and tactical
  • Proven winning RFP response experience, including thorough working knowledge in using all Microsoft office tools
  • A university degree in business or related area will prove to be an asset.
  • Well spoken, presentable, good communications skills (written and oral)
